About this event
@
In the 18th century, Italian printmaker Giovanni Battista Piranesi illustrated the ruins of ancient Rome. Nearly a century later, America’s founders drew inspiration from the bygone city to build the U.S. capital. Join GW professor Rachel Pollack and students who will share research on Piranesi’s Rome and D.C. architecture as part of America’s 250th birthday. Artworks from both Georgetown University Library and the Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies will be explored.
