(14th St) Flow and Grow 2-3 @ 1910 14th St NW 3rd Flr Class Description: Grounded in a optimal blend of support and challenge, Flow and Grow focuses on cultivating grace, strength, and mindfulness. Through a dynamic fusion of energizing music and moments of profound stillness, students are guided to discover inner resilience, balance, and a sense of lightness amidst the complexities of life. Starting with foundational poses, participants are encouraged to explore new frontiers through inversions, arm balances, a demanding standing series, and intricate sequencing. The session culminates with deep relaxation poses to fully integrate the practice's benefits and extend its impact beyond the yoga mat. Join this empowering yoga class tailored to intermediate to advanced practitioners. Class levels: - In our all levels, aka level 1-3 classes, options for all levels of experience are offered. - In our level 1-2 class, options for both total beginners as well as intermediate practitioners of yoga will be provided - In level 1.5-2 classes, options for beginners with some experience as well as intermediate participants are provided. - In level 2-3 classes, options for both intermediate and advanced participants will be provided. - In level 1.5-3 class, options for beginners with some experience as well as intermediate and advanced participants will be provided. - In level 1 and level 1-1.5 classes, options for people totally new to yoga are the focus. Why the same class type can feel different when taught by different teachers: It’s our mission to ensure yoga is accessible and meets your needs! Each Yoga District teacher has their own way of teaching yoga, so we recommend trying a variety of class types with a variety of teachers. With so many options, you're bound to find a teacher and class type that work for you! Here's what to expect in the beginning, middle and end of class: Classes usually start with a series of "grounding," stabilizing movements. This can help you reconnect your mind with your body, while connecting the pace of body movements to the breath. Then the class usually transitions to more warming, strengthening, engaging poses. Toward the end of class you may find poses that focus on flexibility and release. Class usually ends with a final relaxation in "savasana" pose, during which you can lay quietly in stillness to let go. This combination of practices can help you achieve what some refer to as the goal of yoga: awareness of interconnectivity and oneness, bringing about a compassionate way of being.
