About this event
The words "Artificial Intelligence" are now invoked thousands of times per day. AI has implications for the world's economy, the future of jobs, war, medicine, national security, and much more. Clay Jenkinson, a public humanities scholar who studied English literature at Oxford University, examines some of the questions that have risen around the humanities and AI: Will AI reinvigorate the humanities and the reading of great books or kill them off? How will K-12 schools and higher education learn to accommodate the AI revolution while also harnessing it to deepen the experience of reading and writing? Using several classics-Hamlet, The Odyssey, and Crime and Punishment-Jenkinson explores how AI, properly employed, can enrich students' engagement with the humanities.
