About this event
Join the Mexican Cultural Institute , in partnership with Shakespeare Theatre Company , for a special symposium exploring the life, identity, and artistic legacy of Frida Kahlo.
Minister Marta Turok , our Executive Director, will present Mirrors of the Soul: Cataloguing Frida’s Wardrobe, a visual exploration of Frida’s eclectic clothing, personal style, and the evolution of her identity. The presentation will be followed by a conversation and Q&A moderated by Drew Lichtenberg , Artistic Producer of Shakespeare Theatre Company.
Inspired by the questions raised in STC’s production Frida...A Self Portrait by Vanessa Severo, this program invites us to reflect on how Frida’s self-presentation shaped her identity and blurred the boundaries between life and art.
