Jazz & Contemporary Fusion- Adv Beg RECITAL Choreography: Youth (10-13)

About this event

Jazz/Contemporary Fusion blends the energy, precision, and musicality of jazz with the fluidity, emotional depth, and creative expression of contemporary dance. Through technique exercises, improvisation, and choreography, dancers will explore how the two styles complement one another—moving seamlessly between sharp, dynamic movement and grounded, expressive phrasing. As a recital class, special emphasis will be placed on stage presence, storytelling, ensemble connection, and performance quality. Dancers will build confidence and artistry as they rehearse a fully staged piece and prepare to bring it to life before an audience. Recital participation is expected. Students will perform in the semiannual recital on Sunday, December 13. All students must be enrolled by the 2nd week of the session. Dress Code Top:
Fitted black tank top or leotard Bottoms:
Fitted black dance shorts, or leggings Footwear:
1) Tan footless or convertible tights (optional to be worn with shorts) NO FOOTED TIGHTS
2) FOR JAZZ FOCUSED DAYS: Slip On (no laces) jazz shoes in both black AND tan (Advanced Beginner and Higher) (Capezio or Bloch brand preferred)
3) FOR CONTEMPORARY FOCUSED DAYS: Bare Feet Hair:
French braid, TIGHT high pony tail, or bun (hair should not have to be adjusted in the middle of class) NO JEWELRY (exception: stud earrings and medical alert jewelry)
