Friday November 6 * doors at 7, show at 7:30 * $15 * TICKETS Bed Maker - We are Jeff Barsky, Amanda MacKaye, Arthur Noll, and Vin Novara. Separately, we have done a lot and now we are doing this. Bohemian Waxwing is a coming together of four musicians with roots in alt-country, punk, ambient, and indie. With songs that ponder our connections with art, science and the natural world, their lyrics sit at the intersection of our internal and external lives. Their songs might be compared to Yo La Tengo, with the harmonic leanings of XTC, and the lyrical bent of Bill Calahan. The Armors fuse the swagger of hard-hitting classic rock with the flash of mid-'70s glam. Drawing inspiration from proto-punk and DC's Revolution Summer, their sound is equal parts dance-floor energy and sharp-edged snark. Frontwoman Leah Heater commands attention with her jaw-dropping, operatic wails, as the band carves out its place in the underground scene.
