About this event

Beginner Ballet II – Prerequisite: Completion of Beginner I or equivalent experience. This class is a progression from Beginner I, designed for dancers with at least three years of experience who possess a strong technical foundation. The curriculum shifts toward more complex coordination, focusing on the refinement of port de bras and the introduction of épaulement. Dancers can expect longer, more intricate combinations at the barre and in the center, with an increased emphasis on turning exercises and overall athletic strength. This level is also ideal for those returning to ballet after a long hiatus or injury recovery who already have a firm grasp of terminology and alignment. Students are expected to adhere to professional classroom etiquette and traffic flow while applying technique to more demanding movement sequences. All material from previous levels is included. Additional Skills Covered: Circular port de bras 8 Directions of the body 4th Arabesque (legs en croisé, arms same as legs) Alternating standing legs Pas de cheval Arabesque en fondu Fouetté to arabesque Promenade Pas de bourrée and balancé en tournant Step up/en dehors piqué turns Pirouettes from 2nd Double pirouettes en dehors Pirouettes en dedans Emboîté (en tournant in coup de pied) Sissone ouvert Sauté Fouetté Tour Jeté/Entrelacé Echappé battu, Changement Royale, Entrechat Quatre
