Monthly Model Trains Showcase

About this event

Join us at the Fairfax Station Railroad Museum for our cherished Monthly Model Trains Showcase, a delightful gathering for model train enthusiasts and families alike! Every 3rd Sunday, from February through November, we invite hobbyists and curious visitors to explore the fascinating world of model trains, featuring either N or T scale exhibits. Experience: Diverse Exhibits: Marvel at meticulously crafted models, showcasing intricate details and impressive layouts in both N and T scales. Enthusiasts from near and far will display their latest creations, and the museum will highlight unique pieces from its collection. Interactive: Experience live demonstrations on various aspects of model train operation, from basic setup to advanced techniques. Our experts will share tips on landscaping, scenery building, and train operations, making it a perfect opportunity for both beginners and seasoned modelers to learn. Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow hobbyists and the local train community. Share ideas, exchange techniques, and foster friendships with others who share your passion for model trains. Family-Friendly: Families are welcome! Many of our volunteer conductors provide interactive stations where children can engage (‘drive’) with model trains, ensuring the event is fun for all ages. Visitor Information: Admission: General admission rates apply. Parking: Ample parking is available on-site. Accessibility: The museum is fully accessible to all guests. Donate: Donations are appreciated to support the museum and our future events. Monetary and donations of gently used model trains that need to be re-homed are welcome. 2026 Dates (subject to change): February 15, 2026 March 15, 2026 April 19, 2026 May 17, 2026 June 2026: SEE FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND EVENT July 19, 2026 August 16, 2026 September 20, 2026 October 18, 2026 November 15, 2026 Don’t miss out on this exciting opportunity to dive into the world of model trains at the historic Fairfax Station Railroad Museum!
