About this event

Anne Evenhaugen, Head Librarian of the American Art & Portrait Gallery Library, will lead us through the " American Stories " exhibition at the National Museum of American History, which explores "identity, community, and history though the medium of the artist’s book."

" American Stories includes recent acquisitions by emerging contemporary artists alongside works by established figures in American art, such as Sol LeWitt, Adrian Piper, and Ed Ruscha. Some of the works on display are one of a kind and are only found in the Smithsonian Libraries and Archives. Together, they highlight the artist's book as a form for storytelling, reflection, and creative expression."

To avoid over-crowding in the galleries, this event will be limited to 15 attendees.

For those who’d like to continue the discussion, we’ll adjourn to the café in the building for an informal lunch after the tour.
